Re: Really need some Bankroll advice....please help
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] Just done some numbers. I would need to pay $12 fees per day every day for 4 months to get the $600. I only play weeknights and occasionally weekends. What are the tournaments like on FTP (never played there)? Is there a good selection? Are they easy? [/ QUOTE ] Probably a little softer than Stars'. And your bonus would be fine to more or less just sit there I guess because you're getting rakeback too. [/ QUOTE ] Can you elaborate please? Is it realsitic to be able to play enough to get a worthwhile bonus? |

Re: Really need some Bankroll advice....please help
Not quite sure what you mean. There are many players that clear their bonuses on Full Tilt, usually done by playing cash/ring games though, not tournaments and/or sit n go's.

Re: Really need some Bankroll advice....please help
That's it. I only want to play MTT's / Bigger SnG's between say 2pm and 8pm ET. this will only happen say 3 days per week.
Is it worth changing sites from Pokerstars to try and get some bonus back if I will do well go get 5% of my BR in return? I wasn't sure what you meant about my bonus being able to just sit there? |

Re: Really need some Bankroll advice....please help
You do get your bonus back in increments, but it's not the easiest bonus to score back.

Re: Really need some Bankroll advice....please help
hi, i am in a similar situation to you being a student in the UK with a similar sort of role which i used to just keep enough to play on in. i play will hill and stars where for that sort of level there are lots of good tournies, 12/45s and 12/180s are good on stars
as well as a thing like the 2.15 3r and then a few 5/10/20 tournies which start at 7/8ish here in uk. from my experience bonuses are not that easy to get unless you grind cash or sngs oh yeah and you'r eobviously good enough that i wouldn't worry about the 4/180s, they just take so long compared to the turbo versions which are good for roll building then play the bigger tournies for those big scores. by the way is umist as in uni of manchester? |

Re: Really need some Bankroll advice....please help
hey, i dont mean to hijack but I have a minor bankroll question too. I use the 100 buyin rule, which I guess means 100 buyins should help you deal with variance if you are winning rule. So if I follow the 100 buyin rule then play 1 tournament, techinically I should drop down right? Am I retarded or something? I usually follow 120-150 buyins for whatever buyin I play, then dro pdown when I reach the 100 mark. I am probably just a puss.
also I saw this discussed before I believe, but BR for $50r and $100r? $25k and $50k? |

Any good MTT suggestions on Stars that will finish by about midnight? (give or take an hour) I can only seem to see the $5 and $10 GTD tourneys. |

Re: Really need some Bankroll advice....please help
100 BI is either too conservative or too loose, depending on your ability of play; it depends on your field size and ROI%.
If your 50% or under ROI, 100BI for a 300+ person field might be too loose and end up being dangerous to your long term bankroll. If you're over 50%, you can probably get away with less than 100 BIs. The catch is that you can't determine your true ROI, so playing more conservative is always better because you can only have less of a risk of ruin by playing more conservative, whereas playing more liberal can be anywhere from perfect to greatly endangering your risk of ruin. I'd rather play with 200 BIs for the rest of my career than 75 for 1 year. |

Re: Really need some Bankroll advice....please help
[ QUOTE ]
if i were u i would withdraw like $400 bucks so u have a bit extra for yourself so u dont need to dip into your bankroll. Now keep your bankroll as what it should be, money left online that u only use to play poker. Now i would just play 3r's and $10 games. In your session i would mix up the field sizes. Say you play 10 tournaments a session... (that a lot?) so play 4 $10/45, 2 10/180's, 1 big 3r ,1 big $10 and 2 other $10 tourneys of whatever size. when playing at the $10 level over all the sites there are plently of games starting at all times with different field sizes. That way every session you play u have the chance to win big, but you will also probably cash at last once a session in one of the smaller field tourneys so you will usually have a winning / breakeven session. that way it wont be be demoralising playing big field tourneys, and having multiple losing sessions. Yeah so decrease your varience while allowing u to take a shot at big money also. Pez [/ QUOTE ] Best advice in thread...just do this. |
