Re: NL50 - bet sizing?
[ QUOTE ]
I originally posted that your raise on the flop was fine but then I got to wondering about our villain's range... We're Beating: 44/55/66/77/88/99/TT We're Crushed: QQ/KK/AA We're Flipping: AQ/AK A read on our opponent would certainly help out, but I think I might just smooth call this flop and re-evaluate on the turn. If we dodge an A,K, or Q we're probably still in the lead (except for overpairs which are coolers), and can extract more value from those hands that we crush. Edit: Grunched post originally and then saw that the OP had no problems stacking off here. If so, then I think the raise is fine. [/ QUOTE ] with this flop were better than flipping agianst AQ/AK. smaller poker pairs are a huge part of his range IMO and some random overs trying to play back at OP in in his range to I think. board is dry small raise with the intention of getting it in is goot imo. esp if a large raise gets him to fold a small PP that might get it in if the turn comes another low card. |

Re: NL50 - bet sizing?
OP,
Whats your plan if he 3bets or shoves over our raise? Whats your plan if he calls and a blank hits and he - leads out small - checks - makes a decent sized bet - shoves? (PF is standard imo... its a pot sized raise and we're IP) |

(PF is standard imo... its a pot sized raise and we're IP) [/ QUOTE ] The only way I think I could fold this hand against this particular opponent would be if he'd 3bet-minraise me on the flop. If he'd shove I'd snapcall as I beat most of the PP's he could shove with. If he leads out small on the turn I also figure to be ahead. If he checks I also figure to be ahead. A decent sized bet is quite scary actually and I'd probably tank for a while before reluctantly shoving over him. If he shoves the turn I snapcall. These answers are read-dependent and I normally wouldn't overvalue JJ like this. |
