Most untouchable NFL record?

There are some that will never be touched just b/c the game has changed so much.

8 Int in a game.
42 Int in a season. 10 was the max last year.
1539 Yards given up in a Season. Last season 4200 was the lowest. No team has held opponents to under 4k yards in the last 5 years.

A lot of these are really interesting tidbits but like they are just random and borderline irrelevant. I don't mean to criticize you because this thread is intersting but halfway through the poll I was guessing the next one would be consecutive road games in a dome with an odd number of passing yards by a skill position player.

These records are useless, sure they might not get broken but they are records for sucking. They aren't difficult to break if someone wanted to they could fumble seven times in a game.


Ben Roethlisberger's 14 straight wins by a QB to start a career
Atlanta Falcon's 42 straight years(and counting) without back to back winning seasons
1932 Bears' 6 ties in one season
Buffallo Bills' 4 straight SB losses

These records are arbitrary and don't really prove anything at all.

Than there's a whole group of records that are sort of impressive but realistically they have a ton to do with positive variance/longevity

Unitas' 47 straight games with a TD
(Obv Unitas is awesome but I mean this stat has a lot more to do with positive variance than Unitas being a great qb)
Favre's consecutive QB starts
John Runyan's 160+ straight games at o-line
Bruce Matthews' 296 games played at o-line
Tom Landry's 29 striaght years coaching same team
James Wiler's 496 touches(catches+rushes) in one season
(These five are sort of impressive but they are mainly set because they were lucky enough to not got injured and it also doesn't involved them needing to play at a high level they just need to play)

Don Shula's 347 wins
Tom Landry's 20 straight winning seasons

These records are also mainly because of longevity.

Earl Campbell's 4 200 yard games in a season
Barry Sander's 14 straight 100 yard games

These two are impressive but sort of arbitrary I mean what if Barry Sanders instead of doing 14 straight 100 he did 180 yards 7 in a row than 99 than 180 7 in a row again. He wouldn't have either of those records broke despite having much better production


Fewest Yards Allowed in a season: 1539 by 1934 Chicago Cardinals

Not adjusting for era is retarded sure its a record that will like never get broken but who cares? Football was played completely differently and they only played 13 games so an NFL team would have to do it in 3 fewer games.


Lastly this whole thread has a clear answer. Its not even debatable its the 6 ties in one season. There probably have been like 6 ties in the last twenty years. This will never ever happen again even though nobody cares because the record is completely useless and tells us nothing.

The poll is about whether the "record" will be broken; not whether it means anything.

By the way, the reason the "records for sucking" are also hard to break is because teams try NOT to suck, thus there is no incentive for breaking these records. For example, many pitchers could have 20-loss seasons, but usually, the manager pulls them from the rotation to save them the embarrassment.

I don't think we will ever see a team "go" for 7 ties; if it happens, it will sort of ... just happen.
