Re: normandie casino
[ QUOTE ]
Wow - this place must be in a really sketchy area for you to say that. Any stories to add color to this? Is this place stand-alone or near other stores/areas where shady characters walk around? I plan to do a CA cardroom tour next summer possibly so I'm curious. Jeff [/ QUOTE ] The parking lot is out the front entrance and there are maybe 6 or 7 long rows. It's surrounded by a large fence. If you end up parking all the way at the far end you are pretty much out of sight of the front of the casino and I've found that their security presence is not up to par back there. If you valet you go out the front and walk to the right and hand your ticket in at the window. Because it's not a "glamour" cardroom there are usually only one or maybe two attendants and maybe one security guard but he divides his time from the font of the door to the inside. The street is only a 100' or so away. Hustler is more secure and valet is right in front in a small oval with good views and hard for a car to access quickly. |

Any stories to add color to this? [/ QUOTE ] Only Normandie stories I have is that I used to play their Sunday tourneys but stopped because I believe there was chip manipulation going on after the add on. Also, the Normandie and El Dorado (now the Hustler) were my first cardrooms back in the draw and stud hi lo days. Some of their Asian dealers are cute. Just don't expect much competence since it is a starting off point for new dealers. |
