The only reasons I can see for calling are to bust out (or double up) a good player and to make it hard for people to resteal on you.
With a big stack, it is really to your disadvantage to gamble with the payout structure, and the call is obviously cEV-. I don't agree that you are always behind here though. |

Is this a WPT event where down to the final six is televised? Because if it is, I bet people play ridiculously tight when 7 handed, and if Jon wins this, he could really bulldoze the table.

[/ QUOTE ] This is what I was thinking. Sure, it would suck badly to double him up, but I would still have 2x everyone else if I lose. If I win though, I think I could easily get to top 6 with like 1/2 of the chips. Maybe im just dreaming though. |
