I'm worried that the math might not work out in my favor.. There's always a chance that one of the two guys behind me called with AA KK and would have called my shove. So sometimes I'm a huge underdog and will likely lose my stack, and the rest of the time I'm winning only a small pot. [/ QUOTE ] No, there is a very low chance they have AA/KK Firstly - they flat call very rarely. Secondly, with a K and an A in your hand, there is half the combinations of AA and KK out there. So they are extremely unlikely to have it. If they do have it, it's like being afraid of a set against ur AA on the flop - you still get it in almost always and chalk it up to a bad beat when they do, because it's +EV against their average range. If anyone calls, they will often have something like JJ/QQ (or AK) and with money already in the pot it is very +EV to get it in with a 50% chance of winning it - even if you do get the occasional bad beat. |

I strongly disagree with you clownsuit. QQ will have an easier time calling a smaller 4bet. If I 4bet and he calls, what am I going to do the 2/3 times I don't hit the flop? C/F? In the event that I do hit, I'm not going to get paid off because QQ will fold to an A or K high flop.
AK plays much more strongly by seeing all 5 cards. By pushing, the worst case scenario is I'm a 50/50 flip which I don't mind. If the MP wants to call for a full stack hoping I have QQ, then kudos to him, but KK could easily be in my range so he's the one making the bigger mistake by calling (no fold equity). |

Re: AK 4bet shove to isolate preflop with 2 to act behind me. You like
This is standard and me likey. AA/KK next to never flat call here, imo as they are inviting the rest of the table to limp along making it a multiway pot. Therefore, if you do get called, you're a coin-flip at worst (TT-QQ) and with the $50 or so bucks in the pot, it's a +EV play here.
I think, though, that you need to do this with KK/AA on occasion as well as this does reek of AK (ie. turning your hand face up). You'd be amazed at what calls you/how often you get called when you do this with AA as they never expect you to have AA. |

Looks good to me. I wouldn't worry about AA or KK here.
