Scorched earth policy: kill the cat.

Is the cat voluntarily sleeping in the house, or are they keeping it indoors on purpose?

Edit: I'll just get it out of the way for everyone -- no one owns a kat haw haw haw

[/ QUOTE ]

Yeah, yeah, nobody owns a cat. Actually, I haven't seen Evan around for a while. What happened to him?

He's in their house all the time and it's voluntary. The problem is that they've taken advantage of the period when I've been working a lot of late hours in the bar, (I just finished now actually), and I don't get up until ten in the morning. It appears that ten in the morning is not an acceptable time for my cat to eat. The little traitorous bastard.

ads,

If you wanted to get back at them you could always just refill their wine bottles with antifreeze.

Just tell them that you hardly see your cat anymore and could they feed it less... "a little treat for it now and again is ok but I miss my cat being around"

ads - Maybe you should keep your cat indoors during the night. Cats do a great job of bitching and moaning and mewing and pawing and rubbing their slimy wet nose on your sleeping face when they want to be fed at 7AM and have no other recourse but to wake your ass up.

I'm the foreigner so I have to get along with them, if you know what I mean.

I don't really get this but I'm sure you're not making it up. But it's kind of weird to me that they can just take stuff from you, tell you about it, and because you're the noob you just have to grin and bear it. Strange place.

[/ QUOTE ]

They don't think they've taken the cat. I don't think it's even entered their minds. Or do you think they've been bribing me with the cakes? Maybe they're really sneaky after all. Oh man, I'm going to bed. If any of you can think up a good way to get my cat back I'll be happy.

Here's a photo taken in early Spring looking from my balcony down onto their house and yard. This is where my cat hangs out now.

How long do you intend to live there?

If it's not bugging you too much, I'd just let the cat enjoy itself, then if and when you intend to move, steal it back.

I live part of the year in Barcelona and let me tell you, if one of my Catalan neighbors wanted pretty much anything from me (my flat screen - sure - just can I come watch the Barca home games on it?) I would give it up. You cannot really afford to tee your neighbors off when you are a foreigner in their hood.
Get new cat. Keep new cat inside.

Offer to cut the cat in half, then immediately protest and tell them to keep it instead. This should prove that you are the cat's true owner, and your wisdom will be heralded for generations to come.
