Re: What is the highest pocket pair u raises UTG/EP?
Bad players talk like this all the time at my tables too. "I don't see the point in raising with AK preflop... you don't have a hand yet." There is a reason these games are generally considered profitable.
Read SSHE. Period. edit: [ QUOTE ] these people suck at poker. is this really a serious post? i sense leveling... [/ QUOTE ] My spider sense is tingling Kit... |

Re: What is the highest pocket pair u raises UTG/EP?
If I played like my opponents...
o Don't re-raise AK because it's a drawing hand o Never raise out of your big blind, check in the dark. Only AA/KK has enough of an edge to raise, but you get more value out of deception. o Big pairs and big cards never hold up. Small trash wins big pots and it helps a little to be suited but not important. o Hence, build big pots with small suited cards. Capping off any 3 bet is standard. o Check top pair hands behind on the river. Save river bets for big hands and big bluffs. o Wait for the turn to raise your best hands so you trap other players and protect your trips/set from someone sucking out. o Never bet the river on a 3 flush board without a flush unless you are bluffing. o AK is the most over-rated hand in poker. o AA wins small pots or loses big ones. o You should call a single raise to your blind with any 2 cards. o Cold call tight players with any 2 broadway cards pre-flop. .... |

Re: What is the highest pocket pair u raises UTG/EP?
I used to raise 77 in the stars 3/6 but that was because it was full of terrible nits. 99+ is more normal though sometimes I'll limp 99 as well.

Re: What is the highest pocket pair u raises UTG/EP?
In a loose/passive game limp any pocket pair, probably raise 99+ because with the smaller pocket pairs you're better off encouraging bad players to enter the pot with terrible hands since you will won't be putting in money very often post-flop without a set that crushes them.
Once the game becomes mostly aggressive/aware players who raise, play good hands and fight over the 1-2 fish, then stop limping from EP and somewhere around 66,77,88 is as low as you want to go depending on how well you play, yada yada yada. |

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Nines [/ QUOTE ] thanks, how bout ATsuited, KQsuited or KJsuited, do u raise it UTG? [/ QUOTE ] yes. isnt there a hand chart is SSHE or something that has this stuff? [/ QUOTE ] Yes, there is a starting hands chart(s). Two actually- one for tight and one for loose games. I'll admit though, that I'm not sure about the reliability of them in today's on-line games. I do think that they are much more applicable to live games. It's late and I don't have SSHE in front of me; but most of the aforementioned hands (with the possible exception of KQs) are, at best, an UTG call. |

Re: What is the highest pocket pair u raises UTG/EP?
My default range is approx. {88+, AJs+, KQs, AQo} I tend to limp or raise 55-77, AJo, KQo, ATs, KJs, QJs, JTs.
But a lot can change this, such as table style. |
