Re: Set against a fish
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] 2x min raise on the turn be okay ? [/ QUOTE ] No. A min raise is almost never a good play. A turn push is best because you are way ahead of his range on the turn and the board is chalk full of draws. It also eliminates the prospect of facing a tricky river decision when a scare card falls. Getting your money in with the best hand is what the game's all about. [/ QUOTE ] With a less drawy board, do you still push turn? My thoughts are I want to maximize what I think the guy will pay off, with 2 pair, TPTK, etc... ( sorry if I sound dense - - - i've not had good success getting paid off with my all-ins. Trying to learn more about +EV, Sklansky dollars, and all that... ) |

Re: Set against a fish
You are probably behind on the turn.
Turn minbet followed by a minraise is the strongest fish line there is. Its difficult to determine how strong his hand actually is since he may think that J9 is the nuts, but I am seriously concerned about straight and try to fill out on the river. |

Re: Set against a fish
I don't see how we are behind on the turn here. What could the villain possibly have, given the line he took, that we are behind?

Re: Set against a fish
Yeah i think you def have to push turn b/c way to many draws for a river card to hit any hand hes holding.

[/ QUOTE ] thats the key imho, because this guy flat out sucks. 88 beats a lot of what he can possibly have, we kill his call-shove range. |

Well how you're excepting him to play JJ here.
