Finally, this is an awesome TV as long as you have a decent sized room. I would personally rather have this TV than a DLP.

Yep. IMO, the Sony SXRD (or as I like to refer to them, "Sex0red") has much better picture quality than other manufacturers DLPs.

The correct answer is COSTCO, Best Buy is _never_ giving you anything resembling fair market value of whatever you're buying.

Ask for a gift card on top. I got a 3K plasma from Best Buy for $1700 plus they gave me a $700 gift card on top of that. The GC couldnt be used on the TV, but I got the extended warranty, TV stand, new DVD player, etc from it.

I have that exact TV. Bought it for about $2300 from Circuit City with 24 months no interest. You will not be disappointed.

The 60" Sony XBR looked pretty nice also, but not sure it's worth an extra 1K.

As others pointed out, it's not a DLP.

I also doubt it has been on the floor for only 2-3 months. I work at Sears in Electronics and we probably average about 6-7 months on the floor for our TVs.

I don't even think this model has been out for more than a few months. I live in Charlotte, and I had to drive across town for the only one available within about 100 miles. (FWIW, we have 3 or 4 Circuit Citys in town)

With all that being said, I still wouldnt agree to a floor model unless I got an extended warranty which covers everything, no questions.

True. I have a 63" SXRD and it is so awesome.

My roommate got a couple hundred off for picking up a floor model. Since it was a floor model the lamp burned out early, which was a plus because it was still under warranty, so he got a new lamp for free after maybe 8 months or so.

These discounts for floor models are always negotiable and you should be able to get it to 25% off. Just tell them, if you go to 25% off, I'll hand over my check right now.
