Re: 400NL: Value raise thin?
this looks good to me. op stated he didn't appear very good, so I think you get looked up by worse hands A LOT more than Some people are saying.
I was considering minraise since a bad player would get stubborn and hardly ever fold a K here but he might also reraise with AT or 89 which would force you to fold, but they'd call 110 thinking pot is big enough. I can't come up with anything better, 110 seems perfect. Poker is a game of mistakes so I think the best thing to do in this sitaution is 110ish raise and worse hands will fold often but stubbornness/stupidity will get you a lot of calls with any T and even AK, KQ type hands. JUST MAKE SURE YOU CAN FOLD TO A SHOVE |

Re: 400NL: Value raise thin?
A raise here with "just" the straight is really a bluff- rather than a value bet! (You may be able to get a decent player to lay down his flush)
Also, many poor players don't use blocker bets. |

Re: 400NL: Value raise thin?
Well I don't like it... Would a LAG call with KJ OOP? Would he also just call with AK and then play it so passively? I expect a KQ to play this more agressively on the flop. Okey lets say it could still be KQ, would he call with that hand on the river? I don't think so. 89 could very well be the hand he has, but he could also have KK, 77, JJ or a an ace flush. I think lower flushes would have bet the turn to protect against a higher flush or play the flop more agressively. I think a T would also bet the turn to protect against a flush. In villains place if I had a T though and checked the turn i would have check/called the river, or bet more on the river to prevent someone from checkraising. I think on the river this either is a tiny valuebet with a boat or an ace high flush or 89. How awful it may look but I prefer a call because I don't think many hands you beat take this line and will look you up.
