Re: oddsmaker.com
[ QUOTE ]
How do i go about getting a promotional code? I just recently signed up with the site and did not receive a code. [/ QUOTE ] I'd be careful about putting your own money here. From SBR: [ QUOTE ] Oddsmaker (SBR rating D-) new sportsbook from former ownership of BetOnUSA (SBR rating D-). BetOnUSA sold it’s family of sites to Jazette Enterprises Limited (Sportsbook.com Group) in December of 2006. BetOnUSA is most known for giving players a free $50 account and then denying payouts to the few who are lucky enough to build their balance up to the $1,000 minimum required to withdraw. [/ QUOTE ] It seems like people are getting paid now, but I'd be a little wary of depositing money on a site like this. |

Re: oddsmaker.com
The mailings I received included an endorsement by The Shrink. That should tell you how shady they are.

Re: oddsmaker.com
Sorry for bumping an old thread.
I received the free $100 promo in the mail & played it up to $850 in the casino. Now i'm wondering if I should stick it all on one bet in the sports book & hedge somewhere else... or just gamble it up because they might not pay out. |

(I remember you from the Internet Bonuses forum, back before the dark ages for US players began) Precisely for the reason that they might not pay up, I do not think you should gamble up the $850 in the casino. Don't let them freeroll you. I think you should hedge in the sportsbook, by taking a dog at long odds, and taking the favorite at another book, which will hopefully transfer most (or all) of your $850 to the other sportsbook (if and when the favorite wins). Good luck! |

Good luck! [/ QUOTE ] This is just as risky. Moreso if you think the risk of grimming increases with balance size. [/ QUOTE ] I don't think it's just as risky as if he were to gamble it up in the casino. In fact, think this would preserve a good chunk of his equity. My recommendation assumes (although not stated above) that at a balance of $850, he is already in danger of not being paid (he ran up a $100 promo to $850). If so, I'm not sure what better approach will permit him to extract without giving away much of his equity. Assume, for example, that currently he has a 50% chance of being paid if he attempts to withdraw right now. Under that assumption, his equity in the $850 is currently $425 (i.e., .5 * 850). By taking an underdog at, say, 9 to 1 (assuming he can get -900 at another book), he has a 9 to 1 chance of retaining the entire $850. Even if oddsmaker will definitely stiff him in the event that the underdog wager wins, his equity in the $850 is then at 90%, or $765 (i.e., .9 * $850). Much better than his current position, and I'm not sure how he can do any better. Gambling it up in the casino certainly won't preserve any of his equity. There are some other small variables that will affect the above outcomes and figures, but not materially (e.g., he may not be able to find a situation where he can get a 0c arb as described above, causing him to eat more equity). Obviously all of this changes if one disagrees with the assumption that he is already in danger of not being paid. |

Re: oddsmaker.com
No, if he hedges at 9-1 dog and it wins then he immediately has lost 7650. Instead of 425 in equity. If the long dog wins, you lose a substantial sum of money. I wouldn't play anywhere that has problems paying winners for this reason.

Re: oddsmaker.com
Thanks guys.
From their terms: [ QUOTE ] Free $100 Specific Terms and Conditions For clients who are eligible for the free $100 promotion you must wager the bonus a minimum of 10 (ten) times, minimum cashout is $1500, maximum cashout is $2000. Anything above $2000 will be forfeited. NO parlays or teasers are allowed, the free $100 CANNOT be used in the poker room (multi player). Customers who have not made a deposit and/or have already received the free $100 promotion (or similar bonus) are not entitled to this bonus. This offer cannot be combined with any deposits. [/ QUOTE ] This doesnt make any sense since I didn't even need to deposit to get the bonus. I think i'm just going to gamble it up in the casino since I really doubt i'll get paid anyway. I'll wait until tomorrow before I do anything just incase someone has a great idea |
