Re: 10nl: AJs in position nfd on flop facing all in
I call. If you count all 9 heart outs plus one for the backdoor straight, plus count your overs as 3 more, that's about 13 outs. You're getting 1.44:1, so I think there's a reasonable amount of value here.
Plus, as others mentioned, it's good for your image and will give you info about how the opponent plays. Edit: with BB's last $2 most likely coming along that makes the odds even better. Def. a call IMO. |

The odds of this call are 9:5.55. [/ QUOTE ] With UTG's push the pot has $8 when it gets to us, not $9. |

Re: 10nl: AJs in position nfd on flop facing all in
[ QUOTE ]
The odds of this call are 9:5.55. To be precise, with a 10% rake, (.9*9-5.55*(5.55/.9*9+5.55))/10=.58 Which means 58% equity is required to break even. Edit: Well stars has 5% rake and now something about this formula I made up before is causing me doubt... let me work on this more. [/ QUOTE ] Yeah, it doesn't look right, and 10% rake would be criminal, I'm not going to mess with formulas but the pot will end up at about 13.5, so if you want to use 10% rake that would mean 1.35 would be raked, and there is 2.45 in the middle so we can subtract the 1.35 from that leaving 1.10, so we would be paying 5.55 to win 6.65, again we need less than 50% equity. |

Re: 10nl: AJs in position nfd on flop facing all in
Ah yes, of course.
I was going to make a precise requirement from an equity standpoint but we all know how impossible those are to apply, so we'll go with approximations. From a theoreticaly point, with 8:5.55 you're getting about 1.44 to 1 on your money. 1 to 1 requires 50% equity to break even (sans rake) and 1.5 to 1 requires 40% equity to break even (sans rake.) 1.44 to 1 requires something very close to 40% and with a 5% rake you only need a few more equity percent to technically break even. Sooo in this situation, I would call, for reasons mentioned above and also because I have a hard time giving credit to people playing medium stacks (even tight passive preflop) without a read. |

I think its likely that UTG has 78 hards, 67 hearts, something like that. Id call cause of the stakes, dont have to give the person credit of having u dominated.
