I don't know about everyone else, but I would be more inclined to play if they were turbo's. I forget how long the blinds take, but I know they are at least 10 minutes....maybe more?? You're playing at a table full of rocks....there's so little action. If the blinds went up faster, I think that would be better. The games just take too long.

I agree. Also I would be more inclined to play if it started later.

I have only played one of these, and it was in the summer vacation, since I'm European. I would play them if they started earlier. I don't care about the buy i- it's about fun (and glory...), not about increasing $/hr

I voted no for a few reasons.

1) If I feel like playing poker, I usually just grind. If not, I don't play. So, I don't won't to have one stars table open to balance with my other tables.

2) When I do play, I play it for fun. So, I donk around, fpsying everywhere and ignore any kinda bubble implications. I play for first! So, I don't really care what the buy in is.

3) I hate sngs.

I voted no as well b/c it would possibly deter people from playing if the price were too high, pricing out people who just want to play for the fun and competition.

The trout games are -EV, but that is kind of the fun of it. Playing with friends that have good skills is a good way to improve your skills and have some fun doing it. Yeah, the blind structure is slow which gives some room for playing poker in a more MTT or cash-type environment. Pushbot skills don't come into play until much later in the events.

It's more of a social thing than it is a competition IMHO. That's why I like to play them. Sort of like your regular Home Game, but with better players.

As for the different formats (PLO8, HORSE, etc.), whatever games are offered that attract the same regulars are the games I'll play. Won't matter what day or times.

GO TROUTS! SMcF

Some background.

The trout games were designed for fun, not profit. A chance to play for fun on the internet without having to listen to idiots and whiners. Sort of a home game. An evolving, semi regular group. It has evolved into a pretty humorous group. Fun times as it were.
We need to show hands more often.....I've got an idea for next week.

The start times have been discussed at some length and the CONSENSUS keeps coming back to the current ones. The 4pm start time used to be the Euro game, it died from neglect a year or more ago. I would be glad to post an earlier time if there is interest.

I agree with the idea of rotating the 9pm game. Pokerstars software currently has a glitch which will not allow a HORSE game, I notified support a few weeks ago and they said they were on it............

For sale: The commissionership of Trout Games. I have had my 'turn in the barrel', I am looking to give up the power and the glory that is trout games dictator. Applicant should have 20 minutes of free time each week they are willing to give to 'the good of the game'. My predecessor used to include a link or two of interest each week. And a semi-retired troutster used to hype the games like a starving carney on Wednesdays. Little things that might build attendance are welcome.
