I have a carefully crafted response to tailgaters (note this usually occurs on two lane highways so no I am not driving slow in a passing lane).

1. repeatedly tap brakes, this is usually enough for most douchebags
2. if they continue, slow to 10-15mph below the speed limit for 10-15 seconds then resume previous speed
3. if tailgating continues tap brakes and go as slow as possible while still making passing difficult
4. once the douchebag succeeds in passing, flip the high beams (hopefully this is occuring at night), floor it and tailgate douchebag for at least a minute or until we part ways.

You're a [censored] if you tailgate because:
1) Higher chance to get into an accident
2) It will be your fault, you will have to pay for the damages
3) Tailgating won't make the person switch lanes, they were either going to let you pass or not when they saw you approaching
4) Tailgating ticket can be over $100, I hope you get a bunch.

this should be obvious but you shouldn't tailgate or encourage other people to tailgate you. no one benefits from it.

Such a buncha pussies in OOT constantly posting about how people drive bad. No freaking duh, homies.

People suck at driving. Either deal with it, shoot some suckas or let it fester and have a miserable life.

my single biggest peeve in all of life is prolly the ahole who cruises in the passing line.

I heard in Oregon they are militant about giving tickets to people who do this, can anyone confirm? cuz its tempting to move there solely for that reason alone.

Tailgaiting is very -EV, but not because it is dangerous. I, and most other drivers, will just get pissed off and start going even slower when we see some [censored] staying two feet behind us.

[/ QUOTE ]
please stop.

Why do you idiots care whether some guy in a hurry wants to pass you? Just let him go. It'll make everyone's drive a lot less stressful.

Also, how else is that driver gonna let you know he wants to pass? You sure as hell weren't getting out of the way before he started tailing you.

Severely disappointed this thread isn't about football.
