Re: Impossible River Value Bet?
While I have got great feedback from everyone, my thinking in the hand goes along with jogger the most. His preflop action suggests AJ+, KQ, and 99+, maybe any pair he is set mining with. He would be playing AA, KK, and QQ differently than normal, but isn't something to look past.
After the flop action, I can remove 99 and below. The turn flat call doesn't really eliminate any hands, although I think a raise from TT, KQ, and AK would come on the turn. So I agree that I am probably looking at QQ, AQ, or maybe AJ (although unlikely because it would be the case J). Even though I didn't peg him as a bluffer, when I am unsure and out of position, my default play seems to be check/call, because I don't see him calling a bet with AQ here, AJ I get no value from betting, and I get raised by KQ and AK, and also by AA, and called maybe raised with QQ. TT would be the only hand I would get a +EV call from. As it turns out, I did the wussy move and checked, and he disgustingly turned over AQ and I took the pot. Thanks for all the input. |

Re: Impossible River Value Bet?
You played it right. BTW, congrats on getting him back for the nut-straight-loses-to-set-that-fills action from earlier in the session.

I thought that comment might clue some people into his actual holding, but I guess not
