Re: $60 Early level play with PP OOP
Bet 250 on river... same thing, less chips.

Re: $60 Early level play with PP OOP
Two overs w/ a flush draw is a likely hand for opponent. Two bare overs don't justify the turn call. I'm checking the river here and frequently calling a river bet.

Re: $60 Early level play with PP OOP
Reads would be pretty huge here. Is this guy a nit with 99 or a calling station with a draw? WTF is the point of the river bet? You think he's folding an 8 or calling you down with AQss?

Re: $60 Early level play with PP OOP
Well he ended up having ATo which was even slighlty weaker than I had anticipated.
After thinking about it a little more though I can see plays that would involve flat calling w PP if I knew the player was aggressive enough but still dont think I like it. Obviously that doesnt matter though. The reason I posted this was that I knew it was a strange line that I took but to me it still made since so I threw it out there to see if others could point out what I might have been failing to think about. |

He called the river with ATo? [/ QUOTE ] yup, and for the record small bets on the river loved to get called. I dont know why, but I swear I get 80% river calls regardless of hand values if the bet is less than half the pot. |

Wow. Who was he? [/ QUOTE ] Share the wealth and divulge... Your read was right, but I am not sure that I could have eliminated 77-99 here and I would have probably checked the river at least, but you were there man...sometimes we just know (or strongly suspect) like you did here. |

Limp preflop. Check turn Check river. Just because raising his been profitable for you doesn't mean limping isn't more profitable. [/ QUOTE ] I agree with what Pudge says. Nice result anyway. |
