Re: Do I wuss out and just call down?
[ QUOTE ]
i think he has something like T9 or A9 far more often than he has 98/99/88 given flop action [/ QUOTE ] Yes so do I, but being ahead doesn't necessarily mean bet if he's got 0,2 or 3 outs. I felt he would fold trip 9's if I reraised so I wouldn't get much more, and I may not save any chips if you does have me beat. But looking at it from his point of view maybe he'd call down with A9 or something like that. |

Do you really think you fold out A9 by reraising?

I felt he would fold trip 9's if I reraised so I wouldn't get much more [/ QUOTE ] A large range of the possible 9's he has includes a flush draw, and I think he's pretty much never going to fold that strong a hand + that strong a draw. I may be completely blanking on something, but he's not that far behind any hand you can hold if he's holding something like A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. He's always going to have some outs, and could easly have quite a few, and that's if he's behind. - C - |

Do you really think you fold out A9 by reraising? [/ QUOTE ] I thought so at the time given how the hand was played - but looking back maybe he wouldn't. I had been active but the only big losing hand I'd shown was when I had a monster draw and lost a coin-flop - he would have put me on something big. |

Re: Do I wuss out and just call down?
[ QUOTE ]
Hi CopTHIS, With a tight opponent, this board, and the preflop action, calling down is way too weak. Definitely reraise. [/ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] but had lost a few big pots and had noticeably loosened up. [/ QUOTE ] Add this part on, and he's never folding A9, since he is quite likely frustrated at getting stuck, and is very likely to think he is way ahead with trips, and he's unlikely to fold a worse 9, since 9T and 97 both have straight draws to go with it. If he DOES have a 9, he has 7 outs, anyway, 3 of which will be hidden, and likely to get you to lose a lot of chips. It's spots like this where you hope you your image is agro enough that he'll look you up a little light. With stacks this deep, he might even think that he has implied odds to call with a draw. Furthermore, board is so draw heavy, it's not that hard for a tiltish player to put you on a draw. |

Big_Jim,
How much would you 3-bet? And you'd call a push? |

Re: Do I wuss out and just call down?
I would probably make it $1100, and call a push.
