yes walking does help alot. I guess you have weight problems as many diabetics I know tend to balloon quite easily. You will definitely find that eating healthily will have the greatest impact on your weight/health. I reccomend you make sure you eat a large and healthy breakfast and take your dog for at least a 20 minute walk every morning right after you wake up and every evening right beefore you goto bed. Also join something like Weight Watchers.... even if you don't strictly apply yourself to them, they help you recognise the content of what you eat and make you count calories too.
