[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Chicago, sry. [/ QUOTE ] these cel phone providers are the same people who provide "anywhere" internet access cards. these are good for your laptop, but not what you want for your primary home service. [/ QUOTE ] why not? [/ QUOTE ] b/c they are more expensive and slower than "hard lines" |

If you have a computer, remember to change the voltage selector switch to 115V.

Unless the technology has improved a lot in the last year and a half or so, cell phone based internet isnt worth it.
Wireless connection through hotspots is far better. There are a lot of places cropping up with free wi-fi, and T-mobile has hotspots at almost all Starbucks and Barnes and Noble bookstores. Almost all airports have free concourse hotspots or a small daily charge on top of the $30 a month Tmobile charge. Unless you are in your car a lot and really need connectivity "outside", I wouldnt spend the money on cellular internet. |

Is the wifi is starbucks + B&N free to all customers? [/ QUOTE ] Yes, but it's NOT SECURE. I wouldn't use it for anything other than basic web-browsing. For anything else I'd use my cell phone. There are ways to set up dial-up networking through your cell so that you don't have to pay for it (www.howardforums.com) As far as housing goes, craigslist is by far the best resource you'll find. |

OK, when getting housing, when they quote me price $x, how much chance of successfully negotiating do I have?
