On a neutral field, I'd see an advantage for Argentina. Home field advantage turns this around. [/ QUOTE ] Germany is nowhere near Argentina, not even close. It would be a huge upset to see Germany go through. |

There is no denying the talent on Argentina but they almost went home yesterday. Germany has been getting better with each outing. Mexico is no Germany.

you're right, I'll rephrase: It would take horrible refereeing to see Germany go through. FMP [/ QUOTE ] Germany are very slight favorites (-113 to argentina's +107). however, argentina are given slightly better odds to end up winning the title. |

European odds @ Betfair (90 min): Germany: 2.82 Draw: 3.15 Argentina: 2.96 [/ QUOTE ] Interesting odds. Going into the round of 16, Germany was +800 to win the WC, while Argentina was at +380. Now Germany is the favorite in this match. Did Germany really look that good and Argentina that bad? I would say fatigue might play into the equation for ARG, but the teams are getting 6 days rest. The German back line hasn't really been tested yet. I think Argentina's array of strikers will give the German D fits. Riquelme needs to step up and have a better game, but gimme the (slight) underdog Argies in this one. |
