Re: STTF SNG->cash thread
Slim - what Devin said.
The reason why I call the river is because he bet small enough and is going to have AdXo and other random crap frequently enough to make calling profitable. I think you lose more often than not, but you're priced in. |

Re: STTF SNG->cash thread
[ QUOTE ]
Well, I didn't get many responses. I was really curious what people would think MP might have cause I was actually MP. I wanted to see how people would interpret my line to see how affective it might be. [/ QUOTE ] Hi Devin, CCing an utg open in MP1 is a little, uh, hard to read? I have trouble putting an unknown TAG on an A there. Most guys just dont CC aces there - they 3-bet the big ones and fold the rest. I expect to see mid pairs there, most of the time. So it's 66 and maybe a big A ahead of our QQ, or air, and a lot of guys won't pop the flop with the nuts. Also, I would think 66 should bet the turn, because the most likely hand to call a flop raise is an A, so let's get stacks in. So if you had a big A, I dig it. If you had 66, I'd like to bet the turn. If you had air, hmm, I think you get looked up most of the time by a guy who calls the flop raise. |

Re: STTF SNG->cash thread
Slim,
Stack sizes + flop texture make that a tough spot for a c/r. Just lead. Call river. |

Here's the actual hand: [/ QUOTE ] I should have left it in my initial post, when I said I was pretty sure you had AQ after you swapped hero and villain I think you played the hand really well. Flop raise is deceptive and nice, turn check is good after you get called on flop, and the river check to you means let's go to value town. |

Basically readless very early in the session. This is where I have the most trouble because once you have reads, playing is easy. Am I Grand Central Station?

Re: STTF SNG->cash thread
Pretty ugly slim. I just fold preflop. I have a very narrow calling range from the blinds. oop sucks.
You aren't really beating any thing. Spades didn't even miss. I'd fold the turn probably. |

Re: STTF SNG->cash thread
Slim, readless why even bother playing this hand against an UTG raise? OOP against a range that likely has you crushed. Grossness.
