Re: Sbrugby on 300-600 NL.
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] lol none of you have any concept of variance in poker. Brian is a [censored] beast, regardless of how much he loses now. You all realize, he is up 1.8m according to highstakes db this year? He has played 90k hands, meaning he is earning 20 dollars a hand, EVEN AFTER A [censored] 2 MILLION DOLLAR DOWNSWING. Also, he is the only one on that list that has come even remotely close to the long term at these levels, though 90k hands certainly isn't the long run at 300/600. Lately he has been regressing to the mean it appears, but his "mean" slope is still a [censored] towering mountain compared to most of you idiots. [/ QUOTE ] This is a very ironic post. [/ QUOTE ] why [/ QUOTE ] Mainly because you start off by saying that all of the idiots have no concept of variance. Then you seem to ignore the concept when talking about his results. Why is it only variance on the way down? The fact is with the reduced edges and large variance due to aggression levels and short-handed play, all results are pretty much meaningless at this point. The irony is that you seem to grasp that but totally ignore it when arguing his greatness. [/ QUOTE ] no, i never ever would have said when he was up like 3m over 50k hands that that was sustainable... just like i dont say that the team israel results are sustainable. I think all those guys up at the top are amazing poker players, for a number of reasons. I thought Brian was fantastic when I played 5/10- 25/50 with him, long before he exploded. My respect for most of the players at the top is because I played with them back when they were normal high stakes players, and they they absolutely exploded up thru the stakes. My toughest opponent ever at 10/20 was jinsokkp- I think hes a God not just because of the green number next to his name. Also, part of the reason I think Brian is fantastic is because of the respect he gets from his fellow high stakes players. |

That's the worst play you've ever seen him make????? [/ QUOTE ] Ah, okay, maybe not. But it is still an example of a bad play. Does he stop to think what his opponent is raising with on the turn? Even if it's pocket tens he's beat. |
