Re: Official October Thread: General Discussion
Poly, I know it's been like 3-4 hours but I'm still contemplating a shove on the JJJ7 hand....

Re: Official October Thread: General Discussion
no, really - I think its good poker to shoved a naked flush draw after a bet and raise - in which one player (effectively) has 1/3 of his stack in. It works out nicely, b/c you do have 7 clean outs, and you also have the power to avoid the board pairing!

Pushing a nut flush draw is pretty standard at 5-10 nowdays |

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Hey Dean how much did you make from getting Bryce's action? And did BZ have a piece too? The graph I saw was [censored] sick. [/ QUOTE ] Where is this graph? Who told you I have action? [/ QUOTE ] Bryce posted a graph/skype convo on stoxpoker forums. [/ QUOTE ] I actually made a bit of a snafu in posting that without checking in with Dean and partner for explicit permission. I've talked with Dean and luckily it's a non-issue there, but figured a public "whoops, sorry for not considering that" by way of apology was appropriate here. |

[ QUOTE ] My roomate bought the new Professional NL book, so I read it and I must say that I am very dissapointed. Anyone else here read it? [/ QUOTE ] Matthew, I had debated buying it but heard that it was not very good for anyone beating small stakes and up. I'm thinking if Bobbo get's his book published it will be the only decent book on the market for midstakes+ NL. [/ QUOTE ] snowbank, PNL1 was not written for the current $2-$4 and up online games. for example, we talk in great detail about planning around commitment, but in 100bb online games you don't plan most hands around commitment. you plan for stealing if you miss / play small to medium pot if hit / commit if hit big. sorry but that's how the volumes split out. PNL2 however has a lot in it for your games. btw to Matthew yes, you can use planning around commitment very effectively in live games, especially loose capped games. Bobbo sorry man! be picky about who publishes it. and you never know what might happen next year or when an opening at 2+2 might come up. matt |
