Re: The state of Notre Dame football.
[ QUOTE ]
Most high school recruits can barely remember a time when ND was competing for National Championships. They could care less about teams from the 60s and 70s, Touchdown Jesus, Ara Parseghian, Knute Rockne, waking up the echoes, that stupid leprechaun, etc. [/ QUOTE ] Ara outlived all the domers who never forgave him for taking the tie with Mich St and having to watch Anthony Davis dance on his knees in the end zone for an entire second half of football. |

Re: The state of Notre Dame football.
Well, liking football also plays a huge factor into prospect creation.
CA, FL, TX, OH, and PA produce more or less all of the good football players. 10 of the top 12 HS football teams hail from one of those 5 states. |

Re: The state of Notre Dame football.
Excuse me, but saying "CA, FL, TX, OH, and PA produce more or less all of the good football players" is just not true.
If you said they produce about half, then okay I'd believe that. 10% of the states producing the top 50% of athletes is not really that surprising. That's much different than saying "more or less all" which would usually mean like 95%+. I'm not trying to be a nit, but come on. |
