Barret, Where did God come from? [/ QUOTE ] I'm not saying that any one religion is right over another, I'm simply saying that there could be (it's POSSIBLE) that there are forces in this universe that are beyond our comprehension as humans. EDIT: For all of us Poker Players. It would seem it's +EV to believe in God. |

Re: HUGE BRAG: Wife Now In Heaven
There sure are.
Such as what came before the Big Bang. Fwiw, i like to think the Big Crunch happened before, but that gets into some weird conversations about Hawkings Arrow and what created the universe in the first place to make everything keep repeating itself. You know, Einstein once said that if you had a telescope powerful enough, you could look in one direction and see the back of your head. There is plenty our species doesnt know, and even more that i dont know. But simply jumping to a random assumption that some magical being is responsible for everything just doesnt sit right with me. |

Re: HUGE BRAG: Wife Now In Heaven
Had to check back on this thread - knew at some point the floodgates would open and it would degen into a "lol heaven" thing. I'm an athiest, but if there's a 1% chance OP is for real, it's enough for me to hold back and show some class and let the guy grieve.
Rhand - you're a huge tool. For you to think that you can somehow 'show someone the light' by rubbing their nose in something during their darkest moment is extremely foolish of you. If you actually believe it's good for humanity to promote atheism, you should really take a step back and realize that what you are doing is driving him MORE towards religion, and your method has NO chance of getting OP to stop and think. In fact, it's just senseless and rude. Also, Rhand, your grammar, spelling, logic, and general voice indicate strongly that you are a very stupid person. Just thought I'd point that out. |

Chicken spaghetti= THE SMOKING GUN???
No way this is real. If, by some miracle this this true, seek help. No priest or pastor in the history of christianity has actually pretended that people are "in a better place" when they die. Religion is about empathy, not rationalizations. My guess = kkf. --GA |

[/ QUOTE ] There were tons of things we didnt know but have learned since then. My biggest problem with religion is the fact that it just states things without any proof and refuses to accept things that have been proven by way of logic and evidence just cause it doesnt agree with what a guy once dreamt up. Like for example the age of this world, the evolution theorie, etc. If religion had it say we would still think the earth was flat and that the sun circled the earth etc... oh btw patatoes are evil cause they grow under the ground!!! You know people actually died of starvation because clergy back in those days preached that? that patatoes were evil? Religion today is still the same thing it just adapted to a less extreme form in order to survive... |
