Re: High Stakes Poker Season 4 Cast???
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] I think they're just talking about the straddle they sometimes put on in the first 2 seasons? [/ QUOTE ] Nope because the full quote includes the straddle at $2400. "The big game has a structure aimed at generating action, with three "blinds," or forced bets, of $300, $600 and $1,200 each hand. Many hands also had a "straddle," an optional fourth blind, of $2,400." [/ QUOTE ] Many of the hands that were straddled were also re-straddled. No one is ever "forced" to put in even the first straddle, but if Sam Farha wants the straddle on, do you really ever say no? [/ QUOTE ] That's what I thought too but I'm quoting directly from the article about the show. |

Re: High Stakes Poker Season 4 Cast???
It's possible that they added a third blind, given the huge increase in minimum buy-in. And it's not like an ante is that common in cash games either, so I don't see why they wouldn't want to nit-proof the game a little with such huge stacks.

That is probably the change to promote action that Negreanu mentioned in his blog but wouldn't directly explain.

Re: High Stakes Poker Season 4 Cast???
LV Sun and CP both report that Monday's game (the 3rd day of taping) had $300/600/1200 blinds and a $500K min buyin. The first two days of the taping had the same structure as last season however.
