Re: Official NBA Season Thread
[ QUOTE ]
The 2004 Pistons are the 2nd best team of the decade, after the 2001 Lakers. This should be a popular comment. [/ QUOTE ] probably the best defense of the decade but no way a team that averaged like 80 points a game should be considered one of the best of the decade imo. |

[/ QUOTE ] Well, since I had the Lakers page up it was easy to navigate to the Pistons page: 54-28, Finished 2nd in NBA Central Division So a team that didn't even win its own division is the second best team of the decade? Their PD was only +5.8 so that's not a great argument either. You shouldn't have given Vyse your 2+2 password. |

They didn't even have the best defense that year, either (San Antonio)

Re: Official NBA Season Thread
Haha, I knew that would get everyone's goat.
When they traded for Rasheed Wallace, the Pistons were 34-23, 7 games behind the Pacers who were completely steamrolling the Eastern conference. They finished the season 20-5 with a point differential of 17.2. Combined with their performance in the playoffs, I think they definitely have a claim as one of the best teams of the decade. |

[/ QUOTE ] I don't think either of these two teams are correct, and that's even excluding the '99-'00 Lakers for playing two months in the previous decade. 2001 was probably the worst of the 3 Lakers championship teams. |

Whose the early season ROY favorite? [/ QUOTE ] If you are asking who is the actual favorite, still KD. Yi was gaining momentum, but the buzzer-beater on Friday will have outsized impact. As for who it should be: Jamario Moon. I'm only 51% kidding. |
