San Diego (no ethnic diversity, 95% Mexicans) [/ QUOTE ] This is just simply not true. San Diego might not be as ethnically diverse as say NYC, but it is no way as bad as you're trying to make it out to be. |

Re: Help me choose 4 cities to live next year
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] She used to live in Pittsburgh when she first came to the U.S. and kind of misses it. I had been there a few times and actually liked it a lot. [/ QUOTE ] Bob, please go check yourself into a mental institution QUICK! This can be cured if you get treatment for it in its early stages. [/ QUOTE ] I don't know my way around the city that terribly well but I have been there a few times and definitely liked it better than a lot of cities I've been to. Squirrel Hill area was very enjoyable and I liked the people there a ton as well. I much prefer the people and feel of the northern and midwestern U.S. Just friendlier in general in my experience. If I had my choice of U.S. places for our tour we would be hitting Seattle, Madison, Chicago, Boston, small-town New England perhaps in NH, VT or ME and Washington DC. Anyway, since we're probably not hitting many of those northern cities I'll take what I can get and Pittsburgh works decently enough for me. [/ QUOTE ] Well, if it's just a temp stay like you claim, then it's not too bad. At least you'll be able to save up a lot of money since the cost of living is so damn cheap. |

Re: Help me choose 4 cities to live next year
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] while it would depend on the wife's employment, a 3-month stay would be well within the bounds of an ordinary tourist visa. [/ QUOTE ] Right, but that won't work for trying to live and raise a family there. [/ QUOTE ] well, there are two separate instances here. i suspect that you'll be right for the 3-month visit by virtue of being a tourist, and, if you want to migrate internationally, while it'd obviously take more effort than moving interstate within the US, a tertiary educated couple (as I suspect, by implication, OP is) is not likely to have much difficulty. [/ QUOTE ] It's really not that easy to immigrate to Canada. We turn away a lot of Ameican's seeking immigration. Skilled or not. I'm not going to find a link right now, but will later if wanted. [/ QUOTE ] A highly-educated, young family is almost a lock if one can get a job offer or speaks French. Otherwise it'll be a little harder, at least based on this friendly "Does Canada Want You?" quiz. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigra...sess/index.asp The only other thing to add to the above discussion is that Chicago can, and does, get very hot in the summer, although usually only for a few weeks at a time. Depending on how much you hate the heat, this could be a factor. Also, despite being diverse as a city, it is quite segregated by neighborhood. Still, it is a great city. |

According to that, I can move to Canada.
Passing score is a 67 and that's exactly what I got. |

My sources say SD is as follows: White: 49% Latino: 25% Asian: 14% Black: 8% Other: 4% |
