pretty sure tickners call is fine at 200nl but deff not needed at 25nl or probably 50nl for that matter. people just dont bluff those type of hands at lower limits.

Yeah I'll probably go for something like that. I haven't read a book in years, excluding poker books, but I've alway preffered reading biographies, and the like. Thanks for the reccomendation.

ZOMG taleb discusion in uNL
then again it is kaz and gelford

Yes that is a good book I hear it was no.1 US some time ago which really surprises me. I guess no -one else has read his exotic options one...

Defintely a pleasing read and gets across concepts poke r players should understand.

I can't remember the name of the donkey when your not sure what to do though that decides for you whether to raise/fold.

I hear gelford's donkeys' only goes to the raise side...

Fooled by Randomness kinda sucks IMO. I mean the gist of it is good and all, but his writing style is that of a presumptuous douche bag. If he didnt try to write in a way to make himself seem really intelligent (which he obv is), then I'd like it better. My 2c.

I just googled books by him here- the one I meant was dynamic hedging I read for some uni coursework - this is not a for fun book it's a specialist math finance book.

But I didn't know he wrote this Black Swan one- I might have to get it for my holidays away = is this teh one ur on about?

Barry , he's an academic but also with one foot in the real world of global derivatives and that reflects his style of referring to classic stuff. These kinds of writers are pretty rare IMHO and u must remember his style in this is to appeal to a wide audience.

BTW if you like market trading type stuff I got a list of some good ones - The Market wizards series by Schwager is quite good as a start. Similarish and a decent read is Mandelbrot's "Misbehaviour of Markets" or sumtin like that as in:

Any suggestions kaz, or anyone else books to get for my summer holidays ?
obv when i'm not drinking/surfing/eating/e.t.c
