Re: WSOP on ESPN thread (8/7) ($3,000 NL)
Brett Richey should've told Phil to shut up because he had a "critical" decision for all his chips.

Re: WSOP on ESPN thread (8/7) ($3,000 NL)
96/120 minutes were before Hellmuth busted, 24/120 (20%) for the final five players... and they managed to find time for The Nuts during that 24 minutes. I wonder how many non-Hellmuth hands they showed? I should have counted.
Also, it was good to learn that Phil Ivey now has 6 bracelets. I guess ESPN skipped coverage of the latest one. |

ya she apparently telegraphed it pretty bad, i dont think they edited it, but im only going from what ive heard.. i think stacks were like 160, 500, 505.. i remember i have 424k if i fold, 680k if i beat beth and lose to phil, 1.24 million or somewhere around there if i scoop.. dunno why i didnt pay attention to her, my initial thought when she went all in was "yes!" when phil shoved it was "he has aces" i usually stick with my initial read and didnt bother to double check it v her.. sometimes kings come out too [/ QUOTE ] Actually that does make sense... If your read on Phil is that he has Aces (which is pretty likely given how the betting PF unfolded), I can see how you definitely aren't going to put Beth on aces. I was actually more astounded at how Phil and Beth were acting... Phil going "Did you see how fast I called?!?" = HUGE hand ... and then Beth dancing around and mouthing to her husband, etc. I would think that they both (especially Beth) would STFU so that you would come in the pot as well. |

What did everyone think of the way Shankar played that final hand? I thought it was pretty gross. I mean, how the hell do you stack off there with second pair? Am I way off here?

"She called a raise with a king-queen!" [/ QUOTE ] They were suited, she was in the big blind, and she was getting 2 1/2 to 1 on her money. Seriously, Norm and Lon were on their game with this episode, although Phil makes it easy. The "Norm in the table" line (how did the earlier poster screw that up?) is too funny. |

Re: WSOP on ESPN thread (8/7) ($3,000 NL)
What about the earlier hand where she had AQ with mucho action in front of her...ended up being a 3-way all-in vs. KJ and 88 I think (somebody help me with the details please). Just going from the results of what they actually had it was a great call...but was it really?
