For some reason I especially laughed when I saw the "!" after the seven. [/ QUOTE ] |

These cards have been tossed. They are using normal cards now. I made sure before I bought into the event this afternoon.

nice, those were trash. Might try to grab a deck as a collector's item.

Late to the party, but why not? Here is my design to improve things. It's more efficient at the corners. You don't even have to pan your eyes sideways. Card number and suit are in one view.

Silly...anybody who uses cards regularly should be able to look at that design and know it's a mistake. And if they wanted a friendlier design for the overhead cameras, there's the discontinued KEM magnum index, a design USPC presumably now owns.

From worldseriesofpoker.com:
[ QUOTE ] The World Series of Poker and the United States Playing Card Company will host three “Town Hall” meetings – at 11 am, 1 pm, and 4 pm on Wednesday, June 6th in the “Brasilia 5” ballroom. All media and poker players are invited to attend and provide feedback. USPC President and CEO Jason Lockwood and Brand Manager Rob Clendening will present their plans for the “playing card of the future” and will welcome player comments. “I invite any poker player or any fan of poker to come and join us at one of our three meetings on Wednesday,” said Lockwood. “I know players want to have a say in the future of this great game and we value their input.” [/ QUOTE ] Lockwood Interview |

![]() I think it was a good idea that was horribly executed. At my home game we alternate between PL Omaha and Stud Hi/Lo, with A-5 Triple Draw occassionally thrown in. My table is somewhat large and more elevated than a typical poker table, so it's a little harder to read. Large index is nice, especially for Stud, but it is a little harder to "fan" out 4 or 5 large-index cards while keeping them protected at a crowded table. So my perfect cards would have: -Regular index corner pips -Large index side pips (slightly upper left) -the "9" with a straight stem (so it can only be confused with a "b") -Maybe 4 color, but at least with "skinny clubs" and "fat hearts", like on FTP/PS cards Unfortunately, this WSOP debacle has defamed any legit attempt to make a better card, which is certainly possible.... |
