Re: *** Official joining every $4/180man until I win one ***
Strife--
Dude, you could have gotten action from me. I totally understand that your goal is to play until you win. Let's just say that I think you're not 100% to do that. But good luck and all. --Nate |

Re: *** Official joining every $4/180man until I win one ***
Shrug, it was probably incorrect in that spot because I wasn't left with that many chips but I don't see why you guys don't recognize that aces are played significantly differently than any other hand.
And now for whatever reason everyone in this thread thinks I'm a donkey because of my opinion on the KK hand but never bother to consider my skill set or opinions on anything else. Free country, obviously you're entitled to your opinion. |

In 9 right now, positions are as follows:
8/21 TT<AA with 10bbs good for 12th or 13th i forget 14/32 26/54 48/72 78/90 66/100 84/126 as well as two more that just started so we're getting close to the money in the first one i signed up for |

If you were getting called, you were getting 'em in. Why not open push PF? (not that it would have mattered against aces, I just didn't understand the play). GL with the quest. OT |

Re: *** Official joining every $4/180man until I win one ***
I was getting the chips in on any flop, I was just giving him another chance to fold something like AK... it's call a stop and go

Re: *** Official joining every $4/180man until I win one ***
Well, it's not quite a stop-and-go, because after all where's the stop?
That said, there's some merit to not pushing pre here; the critical question is whether the action he gains from worse hands that would have folded outweighs the equity he loses the extra times he loses. I don't think that flop FE is a big part of Strife's play here (in practice; I guess it was in his head, though). If you're trying to drum up some action, I actually think you should consider a limp in that spot. It's amateurish and makes you exploitable; at $4 tournaments it can also be wildly effective. Good luck, --Nate |

Hey Nate,
He left out the part where someone reraised me to 4000 after I made it 2000 and i just called instead of putting hte rest in preflop, so i stop and goed to try to get ak to fold or whatever |

Re: *** Official joining every $4/180man until I win one ***
Ironically throughout all this discussion about the actual odds of me winning one, I figured at some point Nate probably saw this and sent me a private message. If you recall earlier in this thread Nate said this:

I've done some math on the subject, and I can't book the bet unless (a) there's some way to be sure that it's just you on the account and (b) unless I get at least 7-1 odds. I feel pretty bad about this, because when I crunched the numbers harder I saw that things were more in your favor than I'd expected. (More explicitly: I saw that more 4/180's go off than I'd remembered.) Anyhow, please accept my apologies if I've wasted your time. And good luck. All my best, --Nate [/ QUOTE ] Um... excuse me? I was looking for action but no way in hell am I giving up 7:1 odds to do so. I do not win one 6/7 sessions, that's just crazy talk. |

It was higher than I'd previously guessed, but lower than I thought you'd think. (You'd talked like it was a certainty.) And, of course, I was willing to move from the 7-1 line. --Nate |

Fatigue and concentration is gonna suck hardcore if I'm doing this. |
