don't worry, he won't be posting for the next few days [/ QUOTE ] I don't know if you can guarantee that, he's clearly just trying to rile people up so I doubt he'll stop posting. My dad wasn't amazing, but apparently at my half sister's birthday party he defended me in front of everyone when my step-grandmother insulted my career/lifestyle. |

Re: Examples of why your dad is/was awesome
My dad's pretty cool, definitely smart and funny. Apparently he dated Maria Schriver in college when she went to Georgetown. He's also worked for the Capitals for about 26 years and knows pretty much everyone in the league, now and back then. He got an invite from Rod Langway to his HOF induction, and always looked after Scott Stevens when he was a swingin' d ick 18 year old NHL hockey player without a clue. One particular story stood out however: my brother's favorite player back in the day was Al MacInnis so on his birthday he asked Al to give him a call at home, which he did, and it totally freaked my brother out. Really cool imo. Getting game jerseys and sticks from capital's greats like Al Iafrate and Don Beaupre was definitely nice too.
My brother decked Dale Hunter's kid when they were both around 7 or 8, the whole team, including Hunter, thought it was funnier than hell. |

[/ QUOTE ] My brother-in-law briefly played for the Caps a few years ago, about half a season right before the strike. (To get back on topic, my dad is also one of his biggest fans, 'cause that's just how he is.) |
