Isn't it possible that the big name pros were just at the right place at the right time when the poker boom started.

In other words, the Big Name Pros were better then most and won a ton of money from the newbies as they were learning. Now that the newbies studied, experimented, and played a bazillion hands on-line they are almost as good. And if the pros had to start out now, instead of then, they may not be anything special.

well said, and i think that will be proved even more so in the next couple years, i think there may only be 15-20 big names that will continue to prosper greatly, and many of the other "greats" will see a huge decline in their ROI
