Re: Line check with 99 overpair. I think I\'m up against TT : (

[ QUOTE ] id flat call the flop or reraise preflop. the call preflop/raise flop line doesnt seem good to me at all. against what range is that better than re-raising preflop? [/ QUOTE ] Let's say I 3bet pre and he calls. Flop comes 752r, do I bet/fold? Let's say I call pre and call 752r flop, am I calling a turn bet and folding to a river bet? What if JQKA comes on turn and river? [/ QUOTE ] Let's say I sit down to play poker without any idea what I'm doing... |

How is 3betting pre with middle pairs good for postflop play? If the villain holds QQ+, it will be obvious by the flop because he will have reraised me either pre or on the flop. However, if he holds TT JJ, am I 3betting pre to represent QQ+ and hoping he'll fold his overpair to my flop cbet? |

I'm 3-betting pre almost always against a 25/20

call flop and reevaluate. 3bet pre is an option too (wether or not you're folding to a flopshove, decide ingame!)

Re: Line check with 99 overpair. I think I\'m up against TT : (
I like the flop raise only if you have some history with this guy or if he has reason to believe you make a lot of plays at ragged flops in position. I think calling preflop is fine as well, but I'm 3 betting vs a guy with these stats a lot in this spot. As for the river, calling is the worst option IMO, and I see no reason to think he has exactly TT, when he plays JJ-AA the same way. The only way to win this hand is to bluff shove the river, which can be good vs some, but if he doesn't like to fold I'd just muckem.
