Facing a 100BB AI and I\'m holding AK Preflop
How often will you call all your chips in with AK?
Villain is relatively new, only played 2 hands out of 15 so far and he raised one of them. He raises me, I repop with AKos, and he just insta-goes AI. How often do you call here? |

Vs an unknown you have to fold most of the time.

How often will you call all your chips in with AK? [/ QUOTE ] Depends on several things. Is it suited? I'm more likely to commit my chips with AKs vs. AKo. -reads? If he's tight, as your small sample indicates, I'm much less likely to call, than when a 45/30 goes all in. -odds. If you have to call 15 to win over a 45 dollar pot, it's an easy call. You're getting 3:1 on your money, and unless he only makes this play with AA, you definitely have odds to call. Against an unknown, I generally fold when pot odds aren't in my favor, but it doesn't take much for me to call this. If I ever see him shove AI with anything worse than AA, KK, AK, or QQ, I call 100% of the time. |

Pretty easy fold until you see him doing it with any regularity or think he's tilting. Some people often shove JJ and lower to a reraise, much less so AQ/AJ, so you're either a slight underdog or crushed.

Vs an unknown I find it is generally a losing proposition to call.
