Re: Can\'t find postgresql password.
it's probably something obvious.
like "postgrespass" or "abcde" or "12345" etc. |

Re: Can\'t find postgresql password.
Well you can delete the hash for the postgres password by going to "Program Files\PostgreSQL\$VERSION\data\base\global" open the file pg_pwd with notepad and then delete the hash string. Unfortunately that just makes the whole thing unusable. I suspect that uninstalling isn't removing this file. Perhaps if you uninstall and then delete the file?
I think postgres maintains there own forums, you might try there. |

Re: Can\'t find postgresql password.
You can find it in plaintext by searching "postgres" or "pg_pass" or something like that in th Windows Registry.
Take care if you don't know about the registry, tho. |

Re: Can\'t find postgresql password.
PT stores the password in plaintext, postgres does not. Lets hope PT3 corrects this.

[/ QUOTE ] Finally! Someone understands. Anyway, if security was really important PT would ask for the password each time it connects to the database. I don't see PT3 going this route so I doubt it will change. |
