[ QUOTE ] Can you clarify what you mean by "something will come to save me"? [/ QUOTE ] Well, let's look at me. In 2002 I was looking for a job whilst learning poker. I spent a while going to interviews etc, and had a really good poker month. I decided to stop looking and keep playing poker. That's really just a case of fortuitious timing - [/ QUOTE ] Your timing was really lucky in the sense that this happened in 2002. Now that was a great year to get into online poker. |

Re: General life questions / observations / random whatever thread
I bought a non-name brand TempurPedic mattress topper at Sam's Club for $120ish. It's fantastic.
I know, I know, confirmation bias or whatever, but I have already noticed that I sleep through the night much better and wake up earlier. I was generally used to sleeping for ~9-10 hours, since buying the topper I haven't slept more than 8 hours and feel refreshed when I wake up. I love it. |

Re: General life questions / observations / random whatever thread
sometimes just going home, watching some sportscenter and rubbing one out to some internet porn is way better than having to wake up the next morning with the chick u met at the bar the night before. Doesn't matter if she is hot.

Re: General life questions / observations / random whatever thread
my friend works at a swanky nyc restaurant, and we stopped by to visit him after a concert. we mentioned we hadn't eaten and might want to order from the bar or something but he insisted we sit at a table in his section (lennox lewis was at the table next to us!) and they brought out all these complimentary courses and drinks and we had an amazing meal. the bill was 30 bucks, and I tipped 60. I would have tipped more, but I felt like he wanted to treat us in a way, and tipping more would have been somehow weird. note that this is a very good friend of mine who I have helped out in the past with things like plane tickets, not sure if that changes anything.
edit: the bill probably would have been around 250 if he hadn't hooked us up. bad play? how much would you have tipped? |

[/ QUOTE ] seems like he's really nice, and that's a good tip even considering un hooked up bill since 20% of 250 is 50 idk, i don't think it's weird to tip a friend that much, servers always appreciate tips ime idk, if i had a $100 in my wallet i'd have left that as i got up which is just about the same... did you leave 4 20 and a 10? - (or CC?) |

Re: General life questions / observations / random whatever thread
A low-cost alternative to the $20 trick?
My wife and I checked into Wynn last night. We booked a king-panorama room months ago, but were told that they were "out" when we got here...whatever. We took a "standard" room, and when we walked in, we were admiring the room, the faux artwork, the peeled oranges on the table the bag on the suitcase stand. THEY PUT US IN AN OCCUPIED ROOM WTF?!?!? Trudge back down to the reg desk, and magically, they put us in a KING-PANORAMA ROOM ON THE 57TH FLOOR. At least this room only had someone's inhaler in the minibar fridge. I also stayed up until 5:30a playing 8-16 and lost $28. Wynn has me on tilt...off to watch football... |
