Re: Ethical Question
[ QUOTE ]
Hypothetical scenario I request a cash out via check for $2000, wait a week and find the transaction has been canceled and the money is back in my account. The site claims they are changing their bank and apologize. 2 weeks later I request a check for $1500, receive it and deposit it. 1 week later I receive 2 more duplicate checks, for $1500 and $2000. I talk to the site, they say they will get back to me, and do, saying there is no error go ahead and deposit the check. Strictly hypothetical of course. [/ QUOTE ] I know how much I am owed and that is how much I deposit. I would put the other checks in a safe place. |

Re: Ethical Question
Ok, morally you should give it back. However, this is a poker site that will be happy for a degenerate gambler to deposit money and lose it. They care not one jot for anybody's wellfare. They overcharge through rake and will do their level best to not pay any rakeback.
I say keep the money where it is. If they find out and take it back fine. If not thats fine as well. It is their mistake not yours. If someone were to post $6000 into my letterbox I would not post it back out again. |

Re: Ethical Question
[ QUOTE ]
Is this a joke? Take the money and deposit into another pokersite so there is no way they can take the money back. Why are you even thinking twice? Do you think they wouldn't take 6k from you if they thought they could get away with it? Congrats on your win. [/ QUOTE ] Just an FYI the site will hit your ewallet for the funds. If you dont have the money in the ewallet your account will go negative. If its attached to yoru bank (guessing here) they do have the right to make good on the account. |

Re: Ethical Question

Just an FYI the site will hit your ewallet for the funds. [/ QUOTE ] I find that kind of disturbing. I play mainly on Stars so I'm not really worried. But I have used sportsbooks that I felt uncomfortable with in the past. I can think of at least 3 that I have dealt with which after a week or two I just got the feeling they were not that trust-able so I cashed out. This was before the internet and all done via Western Union and cheques so not an issue. But if it was now I'd still have to worry even after I had cashed out that the site would reverse the cash outs. |

Re: Ethical Question
You're an alcoholic who blacks out a lot. Several times you've woken up to find out you lost a lot of money. You just assumed you went on a winning streak during your last bender. Cash out and say you used the money if they ever ask...not your fault...

Re: Ethical Question
If site is AP, cash out all $ and laugh at them if they ask for it back.
If site is stars/ftp/any of the big guys, be nice and give it back, they would do the same (well, stars definitely would) Basically, if you plan to continue playing on that site, ethically and logically you should return it, because they're eventually going to ask for it back. If you never plan on playing there again, and/or if it is a sketchy site in the first place - I would personally keep the money, and I'd expect to get away with it. |

Re: Ethical Question
I would keep the money. No question. No hesitation.
The moral point is: whose money is it? In this case, it is money that belongs to sleazeball grifters who run a poker site. They don't deserve it. Neither do I. I have it. I keep it. Let's say that somehow I ended up with $6000 that really belonged to a local sandwich shop. I return it. No question. No hesitation. Let's say it belonged to a person. I return it. No Q, No H. It belongs to sneaky thieves who I happen to work for/with. I, and most folks around me, consider me to be the most moral person I know. There is no moral question here. |

Re: Ethical Question
Keep the money for sure. Poker sites support freeze customer accounts all the time tying up large sums of money. If anything mock the other support sites. Email them telling them that their issue will be looked into lol
