Re: 27: TT overpair vs unknown level 1
If you are calling such a big pf raise then I think you either have to lead (and fold to a shove or big raise) or raise his flop bet and plan to get it in. 120 is way too much to pay to try and flop a set, and thats basically what you are doing if you aren't very aggressive on an undercard flop.
I think I bet/fold the flop here usually. As played you aren't getting a cheap showdown here pretty clearly, so you either need to give up to another bet or crai (getting more value from the hands that you are beating). |

Re: 27: TT overpair vs unknown level 1
there are so many goons at 27 level though, a donk here could incite a push from some AK/AQ garbage. So you have to go broke on a 7 high turn if you call this much preflop, unless you know the villian, then it can be a very easy fold. (but you'd probably just fold pf in that case)

Re: 27: TT overpair vs unknown level 1
Yeah, I'd probably bet this flop. I can maybe see a check raise, but that might be a bit too much. On the other hand, it might slow villain down enough that you can get to showdown a little cheaper.

Re: 27: TT overpair vs unknown level 1
I raise to 80 preflop and fold if reraised. As played, bet 200-250 on the flop and go from there.

Re: 27: TT overpair vs unknown level 1
A raise to 120 on level 1 can be anything from crap to a guy with QQ-AA wanting to get some value from a premium hand at such an early stage. It's annoying raising to 60 with aces, get one caller, and then no more action later on.
So I will fold this hand PF most of the time. If I call PF, then a 250 bet on the flop seems fine to me. |

Re: 27: TT overpair vs unknown level 1
Read dependent. Usually a fold. I'm betting 250 so that I can lose the minimum.
