Re: Quck question on Stud software
I likened using a HUD to a forward pass (as in Football). When the forward pass was introduced back around 1930 or something, some Football purists considered it cheating. It was a joke about Roggles' remark.

[ QUOTE ]
How's it working for you at this point? I'd love to try it but I'm really terrible with computers and software etc. I'd make a crappy beta tester. I'm really suprised that this thread hasn't caught the attention of guys in here like Andy B. ,Poor Lawyer etc. Shocked actually. I just came in here today for the first time in weeks and this jumped out at me. [/ QUOTE ] I've never used a HUD (as there isn't one for stud) and also you have to use a different spreadsheet than standard on PT from what I remember, and I am no computer whiz. Accordingly, I am not the one to be testing this. Sounds intriguing to have such a thing though, as I occasionally will pop out the gametime window. |

You think a HUD is cheating? Wow. It's not like keeping track of up cards or something if that's what you're thinking. [/ QUOTE ] I understood it as that it can see the upcards and calculate probabilities for you based on those and your own cards |

Re: Quck question on Stud software
Yes. My program should work with any poker site that supports pokertracker. It requires pokertracker to work (but it looks like, from your other post, that you have pokertracker already).
It also requires the use of postgres as the database backend to pokertracker. Some day I might try to make it support access, it's just a pain in the ass to do so. Postgres is actually pretty superior to access anyway. If you're asking if it's against the Pokerstars terms of service or something, I would not think so, unless they have blanket bans on HUDs, if so I'm totally unaware of that. Will I update it soon? Maybe. It's not like I'm charging anything for it. I put some effort into cleaning it up for other people to use it, and I'll put more effort into that if it even appears that anyone wants to try it. I've posted about it something like 5 times, and until today no one's even mentioned it to me, even though there is a post asking if there is a stud HUD like once a week. |
