Re: November Low-Content Thread
Before today, I had never played higher than 25NL or 1/3 live($300 Max), but my HSNL friends decided to force me to play it today at Lucky Chances where they only had 6/12 limit.
Spread limit 2/3/5, 10-200 Preflop: 4 players limp to my BB. I squeeze 96o to 70. 2 players call(uh oh) Flop: 662. Hero bets 120, Villain raises to 280, Hero calls. Turn: 2 Hero checks, Villain bets 170, Hero raises to 370, Villain raises to 570, Hero raises to 750ish putting villain in. Villain shows AA, River blanks off. gogoogogog semi unlimited hold them. <3 |

Conversation at Commerce
"Hi."
"Hi." "I'm _____." ""Hi, I'm An . ." "Yeah, I know your name." "You do?" "Yeah, It's Andy. Andy Fox." "That's right. Do I know you?" "I've seen your stuff." "Oh. By what name do I know you?" "You don't. I'm a lurker." "How'd you know it was me?" "Somebody described you to me. I was wondering when I'd run into you." I'm really worried about what that description was. Mike L. once described me as a serious doofus. I suppose that would suffice. |

Re: Two Liars
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] I know I've told this one before, but I like so I'm going to tell it again. Playing draw poker, I open and a guy who had previously passed calls and draws one. I know he doesn't have a straight or flush draw, he wouldn't play head-up to draw, he's got two small pair. So I draw one to my pair of jacks, don't improve, and bet out, knowing that, as a tight player, figuring me for a tight player, he'll fold his two small pair. He calls. I now need to save face. "Two pair," I say, hoping he'll show and I'll claim they are bigger than mine. He does nothing. "Two small pair," I say. Still nothing. "Deuces and threes with a four," I say finally. "Chop it up," he says, as he lays down deuces and threes with a four. [/ QUOTE ] haha. thats awesome. [/ QUOTE ] Every time Andy posts that story I read it twice. I'm not near sick of it yet. --Nate |

I didn't feel like driving all the way down to San Jose, so I found myself playing 15/30 at Artichoke Joe's for the first time in a long time. WTF is up with all the regulars checking it down with each other? At one point we were 6-handed, and there were three pairwise check-it-downers. Also, they apparently have a rule where you're only allowed to speak Chinese at the table.

Re: November Low-Content Thread
wow great weekend, +8k in the first 45 minutes of sitting in a game and grand total for the weekend ends up being like +300 or something absurd. guess i should be thankful considering i was stuck 10k at one point playing 1/2 bt and ended up losing only 1500 there but its pretty frustrating still.
my favorite hand was this one i played in badugi on a game that started on saturday and ended sunday afternoon going from 60 BEOT to 1/2 BT to BET back to BT over the course of the awful night. i open like 23 on the button mike calls in bb we draw 2. i catch 9 and he c/c draw 2. dont know if im supposed to draw 1 here or 2 again i dont really know what a good hand looks like in badugi but since i basically just snow every time i dont think i have the best 1 card draw it doesnt matter. anyway next mike checks i bet and he calls and draws 1 and i look at my card to see i have caught another spade so im obviously pat because im positive thats the right play. river mike checks i throw some chips out and say "only 6 chips" as a joke bc we are playing 5/10 chip and then throw out the other 4. mike tells me that every time i do that i am bluffing then i tell him he should obviously pay me off if he thinks that is the case. he thinks about 10 seconds and proceeds to call me with 7 incomplete and wins. im pretty sure that i have never actually done the short the bet thing when weak before so i think he just randomly wanted some excuse to be tilty and pay me off but i felt pretty pozzed after that hand. luckily i got him back later with a snow in a really big 2-7 pot where i 3bet him after the 2nd draw with 222KT and he broke a 9 and then paired the river and folded. also one of the regs in the mixed game came in drunker than anyone ive ever seen anyone in a poker game before. he was blind raising every pot for about 4 straight hours, bet dark in a 3 way pot in badugi when he and the other guy were drawing 1 and i was pat. the result here was me building a huge pot with 876 and unfortunately losing to 87 perfect, but its not like i can complain how good i got the money in. he also decided it would be a good idea to throw the plaques for the game on the ground, touch the dealers in the face and light a cigarette at the table, while taking out plenty of time to find himself a nice prostitute. |
