Basically they taped every single ball put into play the last x years, assigned vectors or whatever to each ball based on their location and trajectory and used their data to determine the % the play was made.
I feel it's the best defensive rating system though I'm probably biased.

[/ QUOTE ] seems to make sense except # of chances/oppurtunities is taken to account... ie SSA gets 10 soft balls and makes an out on 5 = +2.4 SSB gets 20 soft balls and makes an out on 8 = +2.8

obviously, Eckstein is way ahead of Jeter cuz Eckstein has so much heart in that little body

I dunno about that plus minus list because Mark Teixera is absolutly ridiculous and hes not even on the list..
Jeter has no range but makes up for it with good throwing skills, adding up to being pretty average overall defensively. I know plenty of yankee fans who acknowledge this.
