Re: High Stakes Poker thread (11/5 - 500k buyin - Spoilers expected)
how would jamie play QsJx? couldnt he make that raise with that also?
obv doyle rad the situation perfectly as quoted y barry but unfrtuneately the read that gold might overvalue a low flsuh was right. but i also hated like someone else the 25K bet. if he bet 15 get raised to 60 or 70 and then call 150K perhaps on the river? |

[ QUOTE ] Suppose Antonio had Guy’s hand when Guy flopped the three Jacks, Sammy had the flush draw and David had fives. I don’t think he would have bet the flop and as tight as he’s playing, he still would have lost all his chips. My guess is probably half the players would try to slow play top set in that situation and gone broke. Guy bet cause he didn’t want to get drawn out on, other players might have gambled more and good bye chips. [/ QUOTE ] I doubt any of the players would have checked that drawy flop with top set. They're not retarded. If it had been checked around, imo depending on the turn action Benyamin would have been good enough to lay his hand down . [/ QUOTE ] It depends on the action but 500k deep i doubt anyone bets big enough to make him fold a set. Then a the river fun times. |

Re: High Stakes Poker thread (11/5 - 500k buyin - Spoilers expected)
Awesome episode!
Is it possible that Doyle didnt want to go up against Gold for other reasons? Such as if Gold was staked, perhaps this was from someone close to Doyle and he might have had % too? Perhaps even staked BY Doyle, or/and his crew? I know... sounds silly, but the players moaned alot about this in previous seasons "are you playing your money" etc. Thoughts on that? Sorry if I missed a previous discussion - so many threads about all of this... |

I'd rather stake lucky jimm |

Re: High Stakes Poker thread (11/5 - 500k buyin - Spoilers expected)
I don't know if this has been addressed as of yet, but I actually really like Doyle's fold having Jamie nutted spades vs spades. He read Jamie for strength, he just forgot to factor just how bad a player Jamie is. I've had this type of thing happen a few times myself before, where I make a big fold based on my perception of my opponents strength, and it turns out they just thought their overpair or whatever was the nuts. But man, would I have loved to see Doyle felt Jamie.
P.S. Also, I can't imagine Jamie has made a ton more $$$ since his WSOP win, and if we go with him getting ~4 million from it, which is generous, is he REALLY dumb enough to buy in for 15%+ of his net worth? |

Re: High Stakes Poker thread (11/5 - 500k buyin - Spoilers expected)
I'm so sick about hearing about the Gold/Doyle hand lol.
Guy played pretty solid. He may be the biggest fish there but he can sit back and and wait for his spots like he's doing to take some big pots. The right strategy for him. Looks like Benyamine will definitely be a regular on this show from now on. Just from his table talk alone I'm sure he'll be invited back from now on and with good cause. 80k on the turn with 72os against anyone...balls. |
