200NL: Set on dry board 3checks oop
Villain is 38/22/3.5, and has been pretty relentlessly aggressive as his stats indicate. I think any hand that he is willing to call a turn or river bet, he will bet himself, and he goes to showdown 28% of the time, so my plan to c/r on river I think gets called by a lot of his hands that bet the river.

I'm okay with it.
could c/r the flop but board is pretty dry so it hinges on how wide a range you check/raise in that spot to begin with. |

Re: 200NL: Set on dry board 3checks oop
It's a tough spot. I would rather bet the river. If he has a 10, you're getting his money anyway. With middle pair or smaller pairs you miss value because he might be inclined to call a river bet considering the board. He checks behind on the river with almost anything but a 10 on the board, unless he is bluffing. If villain has been bluffing, your check is fine, but I would just go with a bet on the river and extract what values left in the hand.

Re: 200NL: Set on dry board 3checks oop
3handed I might lead flop, but check/calling on a flop this dry is probably best. It's tough to come up with a line that gets the money in and doesn't look ultra strong on these flops. You rationale for the turn and river checks are good too, he might stab with air later on too. I think this is OK.

c/r bluff more if you don't think you get enough action when you c/r sets.

Thanks for the replies. Results: villain bet 45 and folded to a shove.
