Apparently the Giants are shopping Lincecum and have said that Lowry can be had for a leadoff center fielder with a cheap contract. Send Gomez for Lowry please.

Unfortunately Gomez isn't good enough to be THE guy in any deal the Mets make this offseason. I'm high on Gomez myself but if the Mets are going to get Lowry, Linecum, Harden, etc it's going to be Milledge as the primary piece on the Mets side.

I read that the Mets are close to re-signing Marlon Anderson. That means the Mets would be close to solidifying their Bench with: Easley, Anderson, Gotay & Chavez. Guess they would still potentially need someone who can play a little corner outfield/infield and a backup catcher.

Read on another site that apparently about 45 minutes ago Eddie C said on the FAN that he expected a Milledge/Pelf/Heilman for Haren trade to go down within an hour.

Take it for what it's worth...and I don't know what that is...

LOL, Billy Beane would have to be drunk beyond life to pull the trigger on that.

If they can get Lincecum they should go ahead and do that.

well, the market is about to open, mets definitely have some priorities, but i do hope they get a reliever, linebrink, romero, gagne, whoever...though romero is a lefty, right?? and we already have schoenwuss...that guy was pretty good when he was on the twins, but whatever...

also, an innings-eating starter like a weaver (ugh) or hernandez or some type like that would be desirable imo, that was too much stress on the pen last year at the end (except mota who just sux)...who knows how long pedro can go next year...

i think maine will be fine, i think he just needed some time to adjust to the grind of a full season and will snap out of it...perez has good stuff and showed a lot last year...plz pelfrey, plz show us something...

not so sure about 2B, it'll prolly come from within

The only way the Mets get the draft picks is if Glavine signs right? So I'm praying he signs with a team and doesn't just call it quits so at least we get something for him.

strange, i was checking out this article out on espn and noticed that glavine seems to be listed as a type A FA??

http://insider.espn.go.com/mlb/hotstove0...%26id%3d3107210

i know type has to do with service time, but i thought it was also with expected value and performance...

either way, it's be sweet if we got the picks a type A player is valued at

I don't know about this. I think Pelfrey is going to have a good season. Along with Milledge and Heilman, this seems like way too much to give up.

Arod, pls.

so you dont think we need a pitcher who was 3rd in the AL in era but rather need a 3b or shortstop who will force goldglover wright to move
