Re: What do you bring to work for lunch?
Yeah, what a weird policy. I unfortunately eat at my desk way too much.
Leftovers are typically my favorite lunch when I don't go out. If you have a microwave around the office, get one of those Uncle Ben's pasta bowls. Also, in regards to your sandwiches, try different bread or lunch meat. Other suggestions: Remember those Handy-Snacks with the crackers and the cheese spred? Those were pretty money. They also now sell carrots and ranch dip in a similar, on-the-go package. |

Re: What do you bring to work for lunch?
Here are a couple of sandwiches I bring to work regularly to avoid bread+dead animal+cheese boredom.
Chicken Salad Pita Grill and dice a chicken breast. Dice a stick of celery and some red onion. Chop up a handful of almonds. Chop up 2-3 half peaches from a can of peaches. Stir up with mayo, salt and pepper to taste. Toss it in a toasted pita (a good thick multigrain pita if you can find them). Crunchy Vegetable Pita Dice a 1/4 green pepper, handful of carrots, a 1/4 cup of cucumber, and a half dozen cherry tomatoes. Dice a chuck of feta. Whip 3-4 tablespoons of yogurt with 1-2 tablespoons of tahini (peanut butter is a decent substitue). Stir together with veggies and feta and season with salt and pepper and cumin to taste. Toss it in a toasted pita (a good thick multigrain pita if you can find them). Those take about 10 minutes to make, but it's worth it. |

Re: What do you bring to work for lunch?
I have a mortadella sandwich pretty much everyday. I suck at lunch.
