Re: PS 60$ - AQ hits top pair
[ QUOTE ]
everyone is saying to raise the turn but what about raising the flop? is this a mistake? I agree that as played I def. raise turn with picking up the nfd but when I saw the hand I thought it was a mistake to smooth call the flop, someone enlighten me [/ QUOTE ] you can certainly make an argument for a raise on any street here. |

Re: PS 60$ - AQ hits top pair
I'd raise the turn since we picked up the NFD. As played I guess we have to call.
For the flop raisers: is there merit to not going broke in a limped pot? |

I agree that as played I def. raise turn with picking up the nfd but when I saw the hand I thought it was a mistake to smooth call the flop, someone enlighten me [/ QUOTE ] The reason why I did not make a flop raise was because of my read on villain. I was pretty sure I was way ahead at that point and letting him leading with a mid pair or a weak Q would have given me room to build the pot without scaring him, I am very sure that raising there would have shut the hand. Once the turn came my plan was to bet if checked to me or to raise but I was very concerned on his strong bet, I probably regretted not to have CRAI which I now think would have been the correct move, bottom line I felt like I was behind on turn, he probably had two pairs so I decided to take the line of pot controlling and stack the dude if rivered an h. I then decided to fold mostly because of his turn bet. comments? |
