Re: 3 Bet pot with straight draw
Chargers, I am curious why you think that. So b/c I do not donk almost ever and b/c I 3 bet hands pf that the majority do not, I dont think about my plays? Thats a pretty insulting comment. As far as not knowing what I do why I do, if you read my post about not donking, I state that I feel it is the wrong play there as it brings the wrong results (better hands raising, worse hands folding). As far as 3-betting light, again I know why I do it. First off, I am more likely to get paid off by someone who pays attention to me, I am also going to be picking up pots off people who were trying to steal or who have hands better than mine but are still marginal eg: A9, and lastly, I can get paid off in more spots than I would have by 3 betting AK and QQ+ only. So thank you for assuming I dont know anything, but I do, just trying to see what the consensus is here with different hands and debate them, I thought that was the goal.

Re: 3 Bet pot with straight draw
Why would you bet here? You have very little fold equity considering he called two bets already. I don't see villain folding often here.

Re: 3 Bet pot with straight draw
Well I would bet to push him off a pair other than a king, and so that if he does push, I can call as I priced myself in, and if he just calls, then I dictated the size of the bet on the turn. I do not expect him to fold a king here obviously, but I think it is reasonable to see a pair of tens or jj or qq fold here. I know that many players will call one bet on the flop with a hand like qq or jj on this board and then fold the turn to further aggression.

Re: 3 Bet pot with straight draw
Sure, he may fold JJ, QQ etc. However, his range is heavily skewed towards a king given the action. You are basically sticking it in here on the turn with a 20% chance to win. You are not getting enough folds here to make it close, this is really -ev.

I dont have pokerstove, could you put in a reasonable range for him here and see how -ev it is?

Re: 3 Bet pot with straight draw
Anyone who says this is dumb move from profish, should start think out of the box sometime.
I can see reason why he 3bet pf Q/J And for this reason i think allin on the turn its not bad and ev+ option(btw i think u at worsth 1/4.5 underdog here) |

Re: 3 Bet pot with straight draw
Maybe I am just being results oriented and I am running well, but I bet again on the turn and he mucked. I guess he got lucky as this will not happen too often as most of you say, but I cant see this as being terrible with outs to fall back on.

Re: 3 Bet pot with straight draw
Yes, IF we get called here his range is obviously ahead of us. But take into account the times he does not call pf and the times he has a hand like AQ, KQ, or AK and has to fold to my c-bet and this hand becomes alot closer than people think at first I feel.
